Terms of use
Last updated: 30 September 2026
These terms apply to everyone who uses WikiCardz (the "game"), a collectible card game where every card is a page of the English Wikipedia. By creating an account or using the game, you accept them. If you don't, please don't use the game.
1. Who runs the game
The operator's legal details (company name, address, registration) are published here before paid features open.
2. Who can play
- You must be 18 or older. We may ask you to prove it.
- During the beta, you can only join with an invite code. Guests can explore without an account; their cards stay on their device and can't be sold or traded.
- One account per person. Each wallet can be linked to one account only; changing the linked wallet is possible once every 7 days.
- You are responsible for your account and your wallet. We never see or store your wallet's keys or recovery phrase, and we will never ask for them.
3. The cards
- Cards are digital collectibles recorded in the game's database. They are not NFTs and are not stored on a blockchain.
- A card gives you the right to hold, show, sell and trade it inside the game. It gives you no right over the Wikipedia article or image it shows (see Credits and licences).
- Free packs: one pack of 6 cards every 15 minutes, up to 15 kept in reserve.
- The odds of every pack are published on the Odds page. Paid draws can be verified: the fingerprint of the draw's secret is shown before you pay and the secret is revealed after.
- We may adjust the game (new cards, new variants, balance changes). We won't take away cards you own, except in case of fraud or a bug that created cards by mistake.
4. Payments in SOL
- Paid packs are priced in US dollars and paid in SOL at the price of the moment (Pyth price feed). The exact amount is fixed when your order is created and shown in your wallet before you approve.
- You pay from your own wallet, directly to the game's wallet on the Solana blockchain. Blockchain transactions can't be reversed. Network fees are paid by you.
- Your cards are drawn and delivered as soon as your payment is confirmed on Solana. Because the digital content is delivered immediately, you agree that the performance starts at once and you give up the 14-day right of withdrawal that consumers have for other purchases.
- If you pay twice for the same pack order, the extra payment is recorded automatically and refunded to the wallet it came from.
- The value of SOL changes quickly. Cards have no guaranteed value: the game never buys cards back and never promises a resale price.
5. The market
- Players can sell cards to each other for SOL. The seller sets the price (minimum 0.001 SOL); the card is locked while it is on sale.
- The buyer pays in one transaction: 95% goes to the seller's wallet and 5% to the game. The game never holds players' funds.
- The first buyer gets a short hold on the card while they pay; the payment expires on its own if they don't, so no one can pay for a card that is already sold.
- If a market payment can't be matched to a card (for example, the same card paid twice), it is recorded automatically. The game refunds its own 5% share; the seller's share went straight to the seller, and we help recover it (a seller who keeps a payment they weren't owed can be frozen).
- To keep bot farms out, new accounts have a daily limit of cards on sale, and we may suspend accounts that farm cards automatically.
- Sellers are responsible for declaring their income and paying any taxes where they live.
6. Referrals
- Each invite code links the new player to the player who shared it, for good. There is only one level.
- The referrer earns 20% of what the game earns from that player: their paid packs, and the game's fee on their sales on the market.
- Earnings are paid in SOL to the referrer's linked wallet, in batches, once they reach 0.01 SOL.
- Self-referral is not allowed: no earnings between accounts created from the same network or funded by the same wallet. Earnings obtained by fraud are cancelled.
- Referrers are responsible for declaring their earnings where they live. We may change the program for the future; earnings already recorded stay yours.
7. Fair play
Bots, scripts, multiple accounts, exploiting bugs, and any attempt to cheat the draws, the market or the referral program are forbidden. We may freeze an account while we look into it, cancel what was obtained by cheating, and close the account. If you find a bug, tell us at the contact address below: we're grateful for it.
8. Play responsibly
Only spend what you can afford to lose, and set yourself limits. If you feel you're losing control, take a break and talk to someone. In France, Joueurs Info Service answers every day on 09 74 75 13 13 (free call). You can ask us to close your account at any time.
9. The service
- The game is in beta. It is provided as it is, and it may be interrupted for maintenance or improvements.
- We are not responsible for losses caused by your wallet, by the Solana network, or by events outside our control. Nothing in these terms limits the rights consumers have under the law.
- WikiCardz is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Wikimedia Foundation. "Wikipedia" is a trademark of the Wikimedia Foundation.
10. Changes and law
We may update these terms; the date at the top changes when we do, and important changes are announced in the game. These terms are governed by French law. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the law of the country where you live. Before going to court, contact us at the contact address below: we'll try to find a solution together. EU consumers can also use a consumer mediator.
